Bill Gates believes in the value of education – despite the fact that his own success story paints a different picture. Quite simply, he’s probably the most famous dropout in the history of Harvard University, having bailed in 1975 to start a little-known venture called Microsoft. Speaking on Friday at another Ivy League university, Columbia […]

If you’re looking for a phone that can take a serious beating but doesn’t deliver a wallop to the wallet, the Tank Xtreme 5.0 could be exactly what you’re looking for. The latest in a long line of recently releases from Blu, it’s probably safe to say the Tank Xtreme 5.0 isn’t the prettiest device on the […]

The researchers, who were led by applied physics and electrical engineering professor Federico Capasso, used an electron beam to create nanofins, or a structure made out of titanium dioxide. Lamborghini Miura turns 50 with Italian Job tribute

In a journey from the museum, the two Miura examples recreated the opening sequence of the 1969 film The Italian Job (and not the 2003 remake), where the Miura was shown driving up the Italian Alps – state road 27 through Great St. Bernard Mountain, which isn’t too far away from Lambo’s Sant Agata Bolognese headquarters. Police officials helped guide the Miuras in the twisty drive, as the pass was opened on a one-time-only basis, just to celebrate the occasion.

miuraWhat also made this event quite special was the fact that the Miura’s founding fathers were present – engineers Gian Paolo Dallara and Paolo Stanzani, who drove the two sports cars in the celebratory event. Designer Marcello Gandini also took part in the festivities, which is just fitting as he had designed the mid-engine sports car.
